5 Tropical Drinks (& Recipes) to Serve at Your Hawaii Wedding

Drink inspiration for your tropical destination wedding in Hawaii.

The islands of Hawaii are world famous for a reason! Why wouldn’t you want a beautiful beach backdrop or lush green cliffs behind you as you recite your wedding vows? And no wedding is truly complete without family and friends toasting in your honor!

You can try to deny it all you want, but a wedding needs a bar and there is nothing better than immersing your guests in a tropical escape one sip at a time!  Here are my absolute favorite, top 5 tropical drinks you need to serve at your wedding.

#1 Hawaiian Style Mai Tai

Like all drinks, the Mai Tai can come in all different colors, styles and flavors, but the classic Hawaiian Mai Tai is a blend of rum and fruit flavors that goes down easy and is perfectly refreshing under the Hawaiian sun.

1.5 oz Light Rum

0.5 oz Orange Curacao

0.5 oz Orgeat Syrup

0.5 oz Lime Juice

2 oz Pineapple Juice

1 oz Dark Rum (floater)

#2 Blue Hawaiian

Blue drinks are so pretty! Did you know that blue curacao is really orange flavored? Funny right?  Blue Hawaiian cocktails can be made a few ways - but I find most people enjoy this version:

2 oz coconut rum (like Malibu)

1 oz blue curacao

4 oz pineapple juice

2 oz sprite

#3 Pina Colada

Of course! The classic pina colada - frozen and delicious! Personally, I don’t drink frozen drinks often, but when I am on vacation I somehow always end up craving one…

2 oz rum (I love spiced rum, but white is most common - but if you want to TASTE the rum, opt for dark!)

2 oz cream of coconut

2 oz pineapple juice

2 oz orange juice πŸ˜‰

Blended with crushed ice

#4 POG Mimosa

What is POG you ask? Well, it is a tasty blend of fresh pineapple, orange and guava juices.  Mix a little bit in your morning glass of bubbly to start the day off right!

1 oz POG juice

5 oz sparkling wine/champagne

#5 Lilikoi Mule

Lilikoi is Hawaiian passionfruit.  Even though I am a huge fan of a classic mule, I think adding some lilikoi juice and swapping in some bourbon really changes things up in a good way.  You’ll just have to try it yourself and find out…

1.5 oz bourbon

0.25 oz fresh lime juice

0.5 oz lilikoi juice

4 oz Q Mixers ginger beer

There must be millions of drink recipes out in the world so you have plenty to choose from! Feel free to try these recipes at home and let me know what you think.
